We are hiring for our 2019 team! Ideal candidates are thoughtful, positive minded, and will be energetic ambassadors for our ice cream. We work hard at making ice cream, but we always have a fun atmosphere that is rewarding for our teammates. We are a small businesses that is growing, candidates must be flexible and must be able to adjust and jump in to help us as new and fun projects arise. We have a few hiring needs, so check them out below:

Part Time Server

Applicants must be able to work weekends and no less than 3 days/week (March- August). It is important that applicants be friendly and be excited to help customers as well as fellow team members.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Welcome customers.

  • Educate and excite customers about our hand crafted ice cream and ice cream desserts.

  • Prepare and serve a variety of ice cream and ice cream treats.

  • Prepare ice cream treats for the ice cream truck.

  • Speak and interact with customers with warmth.

  • Maintain a clean and sanitized shop.

  • Follow Heath and Safety guidelines.

  • Follow recipe and presentation guidelines for our ice cream.

  • Be punctual and reliable and consistent with schedule.

  • Assist in catering needs for the shop.

  • Enjoy a good dance party.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Must be able to work independently.

  • Love good ice cream and be excited and passionate to talk to others about it.

  • Flexible and works well with a team. Must be able to pitch in with new responsibilities that may arise with a growing small business.

  • Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene requirements under the Kent County Health Dept.

  • Must be able to multitask and and juggle multiple responsibilities in a small space.

  • Must be able to think about, and prepare for, the next day as well as current needs.

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

Ice Cream Artist/Server - part time

Applicants must be able to work weekends (evenings) and no less than 3 nights/week (March - September). After September, there are opportunities to maintain limited hours at the shop. Applicant can e-mail resume to rachel@furniturecitycreamery.com

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Help keep the shop full of ice cream.

  • Follow recipe and presentation guidelines for finishing ice cream.

  • Prepare ice cream treats for the shop and the ice cream truck.

  • Assemble/disassemble ice cream maker.

  • Welcome and serve customers with warmth.

  • Balance making ice cream and waiting on customers, with our help.

  • Maintain a clean and sanitized shop.

  • Follow Heath and Safety guidelines.

  • Be punctual and reliable and consistent with schedule.

  • Assist in catering needs for the shop.

  • Enjoy a good dance party.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Love good ice cream and be excited and passionate to talk to others about it.

  • Must be able to work independently.

  • Creative with experience working in a kitchen.

  • Must be able to multitask and and juggle multiple responsibilities in a small space while being busy.

  • Self motivated and task orientated.

  • Must be calm under pressure. Ice Cream Artists are working under pressure in a small space.

  • Flexible and works well with a team. Must be able to pitch in with new responsibilities that may arise with a growing small business.

  • Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene requirements under the Kent County Health Dept.

  • Must be able to think about, and prepare for, the next day as well as current needs.

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

  • Comfortable operating and assembling/disassembling large equipment with training.

Ice Cream Truck Operator - part time

Applicants must be able to work, at minimum, Thursday afternoons, Friday evenings, and Saturdays (May - September). It is important that applicants be friendly and be excited to help customers as well as fellow team members. Position could be 12+ hours per week. Ice Cream Truck operator can also be trained as a server to gain additional hours.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be the warm and welcoming face of the company at public and private events.

  • Educate and excite customers about our hand crafted ice cream and ice cream desserts.

  • Sell/serve a variety of ice cream and ice cream treats out of the ice cream truck.

  • Drive the ice cream truck to/from public and private events.

  • Speak and interact with customers with warmth.

  • Maintain a clean truck.

  • Follow Heath and Safety guidelines.

  • Be punctual and reliable and consistent with schedule.

  • Help spread kindness and fun while being a great ambassador for our brand.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Must have valid drivers license, acceptable driving record, and be insurable (or have own insurance).

  • Must be able to work independently.

  • Love good ice cream and be excited and passionate to talk to others about it.

  • Comfortable and confident in driving a 1973’s vintage truck.

  • Comfortable working alone.

  • Flexible and works well with a team. Must be able to pitch in with new responsibilities that may arise with a growing small business.

  • Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene requirements under the Kent County Health Dept.

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
